The Secret Lives of the Divine
In collaboration with the Durango Dharma Center, regional writer and performer Sarah Syverson is bringing back her poignant and comedic one woman show, The Secret Lives of the Divine.
Directed by local Durango Arts Center talent Theresa A. Carson, the show has something for everyone, featuring a dozen different characters portrayed by Syverson, who never leaves the stage. Syverson says, "The Secret Lives of the Divine is about our humanity, our deepest aspirations and the diversity of paths we take to find our way home to ourselves." Using humor as a bridge, Syverson vividly brings to life each character, from Henry, a little boy struggling with imaginary monsters underneath his bed to Jamal, an Indian Guru working for Qwest to pay the ashram bills, to Stella, a 65 year old Jewish lady attending her first Buddhist retreat.
