Based on Puccini’s La Boheme, Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Hovering in the shadow of poverty, addiction and AIDS, Rent tells the vigorous tale of one year in the life of friends living the Bohemian life in modern-day East Village, New York City; a marginal band of artists who vehemently believe that friendship, compassion, grief, pleasure, beauty – are more important than money, real estate or power.
Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
